Field Trip Helper

Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm is looking for field trip helpers with a primary need from April through June of 2026!

As a field trip helper, your role will be to support the Education Programs Manager in empowering youth in the garden as they learn about food systems, growing food, and gaining confidence in turning seasonal produce into tasty meals. We are looking for people who are consistently available during field trip hours (Monday to Friday, between 9AM and 4 PM) to help with 1-2 field trips per week. Each field trip is usually 2-3 hours long, and we host classes from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Typically, days will be from 9am-1:30pm

Field trip helpers will be assigned a station to run, which might involve gardening with students, cooking with students, teaching lessons on ecology or food systems through games and activities, and/or playing field games with students. Ideal candidates will have some experience with one or more of these areas: gardening, cooking, teaching, or working with kids. Additionally, all applicants must pass a background check.

This year there is also the opportunity for field trip helpers to occasionally support TCF with other areas of our programming! If you are interested in supporting the farm team with planting, harvesting, weeding, and daily operations. Or, if you are interested in events work, please let us know in your interview.

Payment is available for field trip helpers at $16 per hour.

If you’re curious about what a field trip at Thimbleberry looks like, we have a brief video that provides a feel for our programming!
